The walnut, shaped-top with a central, carved cartouche. The shaped, pine wings upholstered inside. The back and scroll arms fully upholstered. The outside back fitted with a beech frame, which supports the back when fully reclined into a day bed. The sides fitted with original, iron, and adjustable ratchets. The seat with original hinges and upholstered with a loose cushion. The long cushion for use when fully reclined into a day bed. The shaped, oak side rails decorated with a central carving. Standing on cabriole legs terminating in pad feet. Stretchers removed & re-upholstered in brown leather. Good original colour and patina. English, second quarter of the 18th century.
