The circular key plate revealing the keyhole. The key operating a mechanism on the interior of the lid throwing ten bolts. Protected by an inner lock plate decorated in relief with figures and foliage. The hinges original. The underside of the top painted cream. The interior with original cream paint, and with a candle box with original, working lock. The front with ten, panels reinforced with strap work and bolts. Twin hasp fittings. Centered with a false escutcheon. The sides with six, panels reinforced with strap work and bolts and original carrying handles. The oak stand retaining traces of its original painted decoration and on brass wheels. Original keys and lever, and two 19th century padlocks. Spanish or French, 17th century.
