- Rare small size, would work as a sofa or low table with the advantage of storage space - Characterful chip carving, ironwork and figuring injecting atmosphere into any interior - Warm, rich, lustrous color and patina.
Single plank top with fine figuring. The frieze with two panels either side of the original iron lockplate and hasp each with characteristic crisp chip carving of geometric shapes. The sides with original iron carrying handles. The shaped, plinth base with three rows of chip carving. This was most likely originally painted and gilded and the paintwork either wore away or was removed probably in the early 20th century to reveal the rich colour and grain of the pinewood which has now developed a lustrous patina.
