An exceptionally small, mid-17th century, oak chest/bible box

The triple panelled top retaining its original iron hinges lifting to reveal the compartment, and an 18th century hasp. The frieze is fitted with a late-18th/early-19th century, working lock. The frieze, front and sides have single panels with crisply carved, stylised lunnettes and leaf decoration. The legs with crisp, chip carving. Standing on the original stile feet. Exceptional original colour and patina.
