A flying putto above holding a victor's wreath, and a figure of Fame blowing a trumpet amongst military trophies below. The rim with further war trophies. The back marked with herbal sprigs. Decorated in blue on a blue glaze. Restoration to a break. Probably Liverpool, circa 1760.

Reference: This dish commemorates the alliance of England with Frederick the Great, King of Prussia during the seven years war of 1756 to 1763. This subject is well-known on Worcester porcelain, engraved and transfer-printed by Robert Hancock after a painting by Pesne (Cyril Cook "The Life and Work of Robert Hancock" item 57).
