An 8 -12 seater, late-18th century, oak and beech farmhouse table with an unusual, central ladder stretcher and a 1 ¾ in. thick top

The 1 ¾ inch, thick, beech top, with some old patches to disguise worm damage, is made from 3 planks of oak with cleated ends. The edges with old tack marks, most likely fixing a fabric that was pinned over the top. The plain frieze has brackets at each corner, some replaced, and is fitted with a walnut, bread board with brass ring handle on one long end. Standing on straight legs joined by an unusual, central ladder stretcher and shaped side stretchers.
