Three matching tables of decreasing size fitting inside each other all with embossed leather tops with stylized central motifs of Aztec gods within geometric borders. The largest table possibly representing Quetzalcoatl, the god of winds and rain, intelligence and self-reflection. The middle table possibly representing Coatlicue 'the serpent skirt' venerated as the "mother of gods and mortals" who gave birth to the stars and moon. The small table possibly representing Tezcatlipoca 'the smoking mirror', god of the nocturnal sky, of ancestral memory, and of time. All with shaped friezes and elegant tapering turned legs and stretchers. Made from a local fruitwood. Exceptional rich and lustrous original color and patina.
