This is one of several love scenes that Marc Chagall created for the limited edition monograph "Chagall" written by J. Lassaigne about his life until 1957. Tenderness and trust seem to bind this couple together, who are lost in thought in the middle of darkness. Everything else surrounding them is faded out in order to intensify the significance of this intimate moment.
