- The unusual height and shaping create an impressive backdrop for the Baroque, trompe-l'œil decoration.
- The bold scrollwork borders and cartouches are classic, Baroque architectural devices creating the impression of a carved surface. The floral sprays are beautifully painted in fine detail. - The cresting terminates with a coronet and small cartouche indicating that this bed was made for nobility.
